HEALING CENTRE AND RETREAT, MULSHI. (Architectural Internship with Opolis Architects, Mumbai)

Innovative Use of Bamboo Construction and Detailing.

The healing centre is a complex of several buildings including an entrance building, staff areas, cow sheds, a brahmasthan or meditation centre, guest cottages, the owner’s residence, treatment rooms etc. Besides these requirements care is being taken to keep it as energy efficient as possible. The main design decisions are based on the contours of the site and are concentrated around the stream that runs within the site. The main material explored in terms of details in the entrance block is bamboo and in the owner’s residence is concrete.
